When traveling on a budget, flexibility is key. If you’re willing to visit popular locations in the off-season, you can get great deals year-round on your lodging, air travel, attractions and even meals. So pack your comfortable shoes, and let’s take a look at some of the best places for seniors to travel.

Branson, Missouri

Branson has become a top travel destination for older adults, and it’s easy to see why. With a variety of country music concerts, restaurants, golfing, museums and an abundance of other attractions, Branson has earned its title, “Live Music Show Capital of the World.”

Green Valley, Arizona

Green Valley, near the Mexican border, offers golfing options, historic sites and other attractions, along with scenic desert vistas. Created as a retirement village, the town offers a variety of amenities for older adults. Be sure to view some of the many Native American crafts during your visit.

Plant City, Florida

Many seniors love visiting Florida for its beautiful, sunny weather, beaches, theme parks and other must-see attractions. If you decide to take a trip to Florida, consider stopping by out-of-the-way Plant City. In this small town, you can walk to a flea market, restaurants and antique shops.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, located on the border with Canada, is famous for its breathtaking falls. If you visit in September, be sure to take in the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival, and take along your passport in case you want to have a look at the falls from the Canadian side.

Wilmington, North Carolina

The Riverwalk in Wilmington has received recognition as the country’s best riverfront destination, but you can enjoy much more in Wilmington. With three beaches close by, along with a dynamic downtown that features scenic views of the Cape Fear River, you’ll find plenty to do in this charming Southern town.

Plymouth, Massachusetts

If you’re a history lover, you’ll enjoy many exciting attractions in Plymouth. Be sure to visit Pilgrim Hall Museum, the nation’s oldest museum, where you can see and touch a piece of Plymouth Rock. Walking tours, multiple museums and whale watching are among the many activities you can enjoy in this New England destination.

Research has found that vacations can help boost both mental and physical well-being as you become more active and less stressed. Taking time to enjoy the surroundings also can increase your creativity, insight, and connections with others. Are you ready to book your trip?
